HIGHLIGHTS
Effective October 28, 2019, Fannie Mae: Updated the Green Building Certifications (Form 4250) to expand the list of Fannie Mae-recognized Green Building Certifications that may be recognized with a pricing benefit. Updated C&D™ to capture additional information regarding the Green Building Certification awarded to a Property.

HIGHLIGHTS

Effective October 28, 2019, Fannie Mae:

Updated the Green Building Certifications (Form 4250) to expand the list of Fannie Mae-recognized Green Building Certifications that may be recognized with a pricing benefit.
Updated C&D™ to capture additional information regarding the Green Building Certification awarded to a Property.

Changes

Form 4250 was updated to reflect the list of recognized Green Building Certifications. These certifications are awarded by third-party organizations to multifamily properties constructed or maintained to meet specified energy and water efficiency standards or other sustainability criteria. Form 4250 now includes:

35 Green Building Certifications accepted across 12 different certifying organizations.
New Green Building Certification Groups reflecting levels of environmental performance. A new Group, Towards Zero Certifications, recognizes Green Building Certifications for properties that achieve nearly net-zero energy consumption.

Additionally, C&D now requires the following fields:

Third-party certifying organization;
Green Building Certification name;
Version; and
Level.
